Business Facebook Pages Done Right

Facebook Pages

There is a science behind creating Business Facebook Pages.

When done right it can really help you grow your business. Unfortunately, not everyone gets it right. You need to create your page, add a cover photo, upload a profile picture, and then invite people to like your page. It’s important to fill out all of the basic information required, including adding information to the company overview section. After that, you can write a status update and start doing some creative things like hosting a contest and increasing your followers.

How to create Business Facebook Pages

Creating a Business Facebook Page is pretty easy. Don’t use a personal page as a Business page. Business Facebook Pages are optimized for businesses and have the tools and statistics businesses need. The first thing you need to do is go into your personal page and click the drop-down menu up top to create the business page. Then you need to pick the type of business page you would like to create. You have the choice between a local business, company, institution, or organization. You also have the option to choose a brand, product, band, or public figure.

After you make that choice go ahead and create the page but don’t start inviting people just yet. You want to finish building your profile and add some pictures first. Next, you need to add a cover photo. Make sure the photo is approximately 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels high. Facebook gives you the option to crop your photo but it needs to be the right size to look good.

Upload your profile picture. You should use your company logo as a profile picture. Every Time you make a post or comment your logo will appear. The size needs to be about 180 x 180 pixels.

It’s important to complete all the basic information. Write a good 2 to 3 sentences in the about me section. Write something professional describing your business. Be sure and include a link to your website. You can write a longer description in the company overview section. You also have the option to customize up to 4 tabs on Facebook if you want to have content describing additional services or products that you offer. Now go ahead and write your first status update and start inviting people to like your page.

Linking Social Media Accounts

Don’t link your Facebook and Twitter accounts. It’s annoying and not very effective. It’s much better to post separately. Use the best content available for each medium.

Holding a Facebook contest is a great way to increase your followers and build your audience. Facebook now allows you to have a contest without using a third party to run it. A contest will engage your Facebook fans and build trust. Both Facebook and your fans will like images and pictures that are posted.

Learning to use Facebook business pages will greatly benefit your business. After you get set-up properly be sure to give your fans the interaction they desire. Great pictures, good content, fan engaging contest, and games will create the traffic that you want for your business page.
